Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Manuscript Submission Checklist:

As a part of the submission process, authors are required to check their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or Word Perfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission: South Asian Journal of Participative Development (SAJPD) has a web-based system for the submission of manuscripts. Please read the Manuscript Submission guidelines below, and then simply visit the journal’s site www.southasianjournalpd.org  to login and submit your article online. All papers should be submitted via the online system.

SAJPD considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to SAJPD, that they have not been published already (except in the form of an abstract or as part of an unpublished lecture or academic thesis), nor are they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere.

The articles should have a relevance of social change and development, evidences of development, clarity in presentation, correct language and evidence of a high level scholarship. To expedite the review process, all manuscripts submitted to SAJPD must be prepared according to the following format:

Language: Papers are accepted only in English language.

Cover Page: The cover page should indicate the title of the paper, author/s’ affiliation, detail postal address, email id and contact number of the first/correspondent author.

Title Page: The second page consists of the manuscript title, abstract which will be maximum 300 words that reflects an abbreviated representation of the content of the manuscript including purpose, method, main results, conclusions, and/or recommendations and up to seven key words for indexing purposes. To facilitate the double-blind peer review process no material that identifies the author(s) should be placed on this page.

Abstract: Each article/paper should have an abstract of not more than 300 words along with 7 to 9 significant key words.

Full Text: For full length papers, text should consist of an introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions, acknowledgements and references.  Text citations should adhere to the following examples: (Bram, 1994) or (Aronsson, 2001, 2002; Labonte & Laverack, 2005; Kwan, et al., 2003) or (Limbert, 2004, p.7) (for quoted material). Abbreviations should be fully spelled out in parentheses at the first time that they are used in the text.

Length of Article: The article should not exceed 4000 words and should be typed in 12 size font in the M.S. word format with A/4 size paper and should be single spaced.

Declaration: It is mandatory for all the authors to submit a declaration stating that the article/paper is of original and written by them. The same should be send through a scanned copy duly signed by the first and subsequent authors.

Plagiarism: Zero tolerance of plagiarism is highly appreciated. However, a 10 percent of plagiarism is considered. It is the authors’ responsibility to check the status of plagiarism and declare the same thereby. The authors should check their plagiarism and enclose the plagiarism report with the article. However, the SAJPD will also check the plagiarism through the standard software.

Peer Review: The journal is double-blind peer reviewed. Hence, it takes a little time to get the articles reviewed. The results will be communicated to the authors once the procedure is completed.

Selection of the Article: Only those articles that are recommended by the Peer Reviewers will be finally selected for the publication. The Decision of the Editorial Board regarding the selection of the papers will be final and no reasons are required to be communicated to the authors.

Hard and Soft Copies to Authors: The authors are entitled to avail a single complimentary copy per published article from the publisher. The soft copies in the form of PDF will be supplied to the authors through email and they can also down load through the journal website.  Postage charges are to be borne by the foreign authors.

References: References are to be marked with the super scripts at the appropriate citation or in text citation. Foot notes are also welcomed wherever they are necessary. In this context the authors are advised to follow the APA (6th Edition) format.

Ethical Aspects:

  1. The authors are requested to check the plagiarism and submit the articles for its publication. They are fully responsible for the plagiarism check of their articles.
  2. They are also requested to acknowledge all the references properly. And they are fully responsible for any violation of the copy rights as regards to their articles.
  3. Once the articles are selected for publication the corresponding authors need to submit the undertaking with their signatures stating that the article is of their own and it is original and it has duly checked the plagiarism and the plagiarism is less than 10 percent.
  4. Any legal matter will be under the jurisdiction of Pune District.
  5. The copyrights of all the published articles shall be with the concerned authors.
  6. There are no Publication/Submission/Processing or any other hidden charges for publishing articles in this journal.

Open Access Policy:

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving:

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
